'Introduction to Architecture' Sessions

The schools listed below offer abbreviated Summer sessions that are designed
to introduce interested individuals to architectural studies with
coursework such as architectural design and history, computer applications, graphics,
as well as lectures and field trips. For more detailed information
about specific sessions, dates and fees, refer to the schools'
websites.


California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
Program: SUMMER CAREER WORKSHOP- 3 week session
Students are required to live on campus during the session.
Eligibility: High schools students about to enter Senior Year.
Fee: Approx. $3,000, includes room, 2 daily meals and project supplies.

SCI-Arc, Los Angeles
Program: MAKING & MEANING- 5 week session
Eligibility: Age 17 or older.
Fee: Approx. $3,200.

University of California, Berkeley
Any person may enroll in any course offered during the school's normal
Summer terms, including those offered by the Department of
Architecture.
Eligibility: High school graduates, though there may be some prerequisites.
Fee: Depends on the length of particular courses.

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
Program: JUMP_START- 6 week session
Eligibility: College students in their third year, graduates and/or
professionals.
Fee: Approx. $3,000.

University of Southern California (USC)
Program: EXPLORATION of ARCHITECTURE- 2 week and 4 week sessions
Students are required to live on campus during the session.
Eligibility: High school students only.
Fee: To be determined.

New School of Architecture and Design, San Diego
Program: SUMMER EXPLORATORY- 4 week session
Eligibility: High school students about to enter Junior Year or
college students.
